Q is for Quizzical: Inside A Q Word Podcast

Updated: 5 days ago

If you’ve ever wondered how many trivia answers you can dream up that start with the same single letter, this week’s episode of Trivia With Budds puts that question to the test. One of my newest episodes is entirely dedicated to Q Words — every single answer, no exceptions, starts with the letter Q.

Don’t worry about missing the trivia live — the first question doesn’t kick off until 1:47, so there’s time to settle in first.

The Full Q Words Round

Think you can beat the pod? Here’s the complete set — try answering before you scroll to the bottom of each one.

1. Along with the standard chocolate, it also came in banana and mango flavors, Nestle ______.

2. This “supergrain of the future” is considered a complete protein.

3. This band had the songs “Somebody to Love” and “I Want to Break Free.”

4. He’s the hunchback in a famous Disney movie.

5. The Lorraine version of this egg and cheese dish, baked in a pie crust, contains bacon or ham.

6. A word representing the absolute best, most perfect, or most typical example of a person, place, or thing.

7. An accounting software package developed and marketed by Intuit.

8. A container for holding arrows.

9. A word that Billy Madison says when he holds up his picture of a blue duck.

10. Luna Lovegood’s father edited and published this tabloid in the world of Harry Potter.

11. Bonus (2 pts): North American types of this edible animal include Montezuma, Mountain, and Northern Bobwhite.

Answers

1. Quik

2. Quinoa

3. Queen

4. Quasimodo

5. Quiche

6. Quintessential

7. QuickBooks

8. Quiver

9. Quacktastic

10. Quibbler

11. Quail

How many did you get? The hunchback and the tabloid question are usually the ones that trip people up — everyone knows the answer once they see it, but pulling it out of memory cold is another story.

Fact of the Day

Every episode opens with a random nugget of knowledge, and this one’s a good one: your brain generates enough electricity to power a small LED bulb. A nice reminder that the organ you’re using to answer these Q-word questions is quite literally powering itself while it works.

Triple Connections

Also in the mix this episode is a round of Triple Connections, where three clues share a hidden link. This time around, the words on the table are Caddy, Love, Shake — see if you can work out what ties them together before the reveals.

Listen and Play Along

Trivia With Budds drops new episodes daily, each one built around a different theme, twist, or trivia format. This is a great one to test your Q-word knowledge (and your Harry Potter trivia) against the clock.
